Jim Parsons injured himself during the Saturday matinee of The Boys in the Band, forcing producers to cancel that night’s performance. Parsons, who plays Michael in the revival of Mart Crowley’s seminal 1968 play, tripped down a stair during the curtain call and limped offstage while his cast mates took their bows.

“Due to a minor injury of a cast member, the Saturday evening performance has been canceled,” read a now-deleted Tweet from the @BoysBandBway account. “Performances will resume Monday night. Please contact your point-of-purchase for refund and exchange information.”

Premiering off-Broadway in 1968, Boys focuses on a circle of gay male friends who gather for a birthday party in Manhattan. As the night wears on, friendships unravel and uncomfortable truths are revealed.

Produced by Ryan Murphy, the revival co-stars Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, Andrew Rannells, Robin De Jesús, Brian Hutchison, Charlie Carver, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Tuc Watkins.
