Two easily confused words “在 zài & 再 zài” will be explained very clearly in this video so don’t miss it!

  1. Zai4 "anymore, again" is explained in this video as "do the same action again". But in my view this usage is actually somewhat of an exception (and this style of teaching is inspired by an English way of looking at Chinese, by the semantics of English). The normal usage of this adverb zai4 is "first do one thing and only then do something else", with two separate actions, represented by two verbs. So it is not simply a marker for repetition.
